Facing new challenges everyday

Yesterday I started a small application using JBoss Seam and Richfaces, after some hours fixing configuration issues and incompatibilities I could finally get a simple crud working.

One of the problems that I had while trying to get the application running was a redirect loop when using seam with myfaces tomahawk, once I removed myfaces tomahawk libs and configuration entries in web.xml the error gone.

Now I have another problem related with Richfaces calendar component, the popup button image isn’t displayed and the javascript for calendar component isn’t loaded too.

I had some problems with Richfaces modalPanel rendering on oc4j and after talk with some gurus, if you have the same problem you can find the solution at this page that describes the steps to replace the oracle xml parser by apache xerces. Just do it and the bug will go away!

Recentemente estava quebrando a cabeça com um código que permitisse a execução de um método no backingbean ao clicar em uma linha de um rich:dataTable, para resolver o problema criei o código abaixo:

Faz alguns dias que estou usando esse framework para construir uma aplicação jsf com suporte a ajax, comecei usando a versão 3.0.1 que resolvia muito bem boa parte dos meus problemas, exceto a mudança de aba através do código do meu bean, resolvi mudar para a versão 3.1.0, pois bem, esse problema foi resolvido mas a partir de então vários outros surgiram de forma que logo logo vou voltar para a versão anterior do framework.

Recomendo aos colegas que tenham muito cuidado antes de fazer um update da sua aplicação para essa versão desse framework.

E a luta continua…
